We employ a range of staff in our schools across
North Somerset.
These range from headteachers of secondary schools in our larger
towns to classroom assistants in village nurseries.
We encourage these staff to develop and boost their professional
skills through our
Continuing Professional Development
(CPD) programme.
Each school has a
CPD Leader who is
responsible for this development.

We also provide specialist advice and support on a range of
personnel issues relating to teaching and support staff for
headteachers, staff and governors of locally managed schools
through our Education
Personnel service.
We communicate with schools using Information
Communication Sheets, a system devised by the Department for
