Do we provide transport to schools on grounds of religion or belief ?

Unfortunately, free transport based solely on grounds of religion or belief is not provided to new applicants.

However, families on income-related benefits (including Free School Meals and the highest level of Working Tax Credit) may be entitled to free transport to their nearest secondary school designated to serve their particular faith or denomination provided it is between two and twenty five miles from home.

To qualify, parents will need to have made a clear preference for this school on the basis of their faith at the start of the admission process and will usually be required to obtain a signed statement from a minister or church leader to confirm their adherence to the faith. It will be necessary to confirm eligibility for this scheme prior to the start of each school year to ensure families continue to receive the appropriate benefits.
