Running schools in North Somerset has a lot more to do
with it than just proving the teachers, books and
classrooms.
As part of our duty to provide all children across the district
with an education means we have to help get them through the
gates.
This we do with the help of our Home to school transport team and
school crossing patrols who ensure each child arrives at schools
safe and on time.
And once the pupils have arrived we then have to take care of
their needs until the final bell.
This means we under certain circumstances we provide them
with free school meals, help towards the costs of uniforms
and supervise any medication they may need.
