We use water every day and it plays a crucial part
in all our lives.
We need to use the water we have more wisely as millions of
gallons goes to waste each day.
Every time we turn on a tap we need to be aware of how
much of this essential resource we use and how much
just goes down the drain.
We could all do more to reduce the amount we use.
If your school decides to concentrate on water as an Eco-Schools
theme, you could ask yourself the following questions about the
water and the way you use it:
- What do you use water for in your school?
- What do you use water for at home?
- How much water do you use each day and how much does it
cost?
- What can you do to save water?
- What would it be like if water was scarce?
The following organisations might be able to help with this
theme:
-
Wessex
Water - Offers a variety of resources for schools
through its Community, Education & Recreation section
- The Water School -
Helps you carry out a water metering project in your
school
