Eco-schools - Grants and funding

The Eco-Schools programme aims to make schools more eco-friendly and sustainable through the promotion of environmental awareness activities aimed at both pupils and staff.

As part of our commitment to help schools improve their eco-friendly strategies we have provided a list of funding organisations who can help schools who are already part of the Eco-Schools programme:

• Ernest Cook Trust awards grants to help educate young people about the environment and the countryside
• Action Earth awards up to £50 to help with environmental projects
• Esmée Fairbairn Foundation aims to promote environmental improvements which balance the needs of people and wildlife
• Woodward Charitable Trust may consider environmental projects, especially with a strong education element, provided they are distinctive and not merely a part of current fashion
• Bristol International Airport community fund if you are within 5 miles of the airport
• Garfield Weston Foundation funds various projects including those for youth and environment
