The Music Service is an
Arts Award Welcome Centre. This means that if you are
currently working towards obtaining an Arts Award, we can provide
opportunities for you to achieve your goals.
If you are
registered for an Arts Award you can receive free tickets to any
performance organised by the North Somerset Centre for Young
Musicians. You can also get involved in organising these
concerts and performances, helping with stage management,
programming and sound reinforcement and recording.
Should you want
to help coach and support less experienced young musicians this can
be arranged. Alternatively you can undertake work experience
type roles with the Music Service, learning about the
administrative support that enables arts provision to take place,
or shadowing and assisting facilitators as they deliver steel pan,
gamelan, taiko, samba and African music workshops. Perhaps
you would like to work alongside instrumental teachers as they
teach, help conductors, or maybe even just meet and talk to
musicians who are actively working and performing in venues
throughout the area? If you are a budding composer or
songwriter perhaps we could arrange for some of your creations to
be performed?
If you are
undertaking an Arts Award with a musical focus, please do contact
us and see if we can offer you support in your endeavours. We
look forward to hearing from you!

contact us at any time to discuss how we can support you, we will
