Governors, governing bodies, schools and senior managers
have a range of services available to them through our Governor
Services team.
The team provides help to enable schools to raise standards
and for every pupil to achieve their full potential.
We also aim to ensure governors and governing bodies are
fully aware of their statutory roles and responsibilities.
Our services are tailored to ensure that these goals are met and
include:
- Provision of an up to date and comprehensive governor
training programme.
- Providing advice, guidance and information on the role and
responsibilities of governing bodies
- Maintaining links with
North Somerset Governors Association (GANS)
- Working with the Learning Exchange to help governing
bodies evaluate their efficiency, effectiveness and success in
playing a strategic part in the leadership and management of
schools

Producing briefing
sheets for governors and clerks
- Raise awareness of national regulations and guidelines
- Liaising with diocesan authorities regarding support and
guidance to governors of church schools
- Answering any individual queries
We operate from the First Floor, Castlewood, Tickenham Road,
Clevedon and can be contacted from 9.30am until 4.30pm Monday to
Friday.
