Children who perform in entertainment, modelling or paid
sport will nearly always require a licence.
There are strict conditions laid down in law so that children
are safeguarded from exploitation and risks to their health and
safety. the child's welfare is paramount.
Children who are licensed to perform and are not accompanied by
a parent will always require an authorised
Chaperone.
If you are a producer who wants to use school age children, or
you are a parent of a child who wants to perform, please read the
attached Children in Entertainment
Factsheet (pdf, Aug 11, 76KB).
There is also a
Child Licensing Application Form which
you can download. Both producer and parent/carer need to
complete and sign this form.
The child's attendance at school is always checked when a Child
Licensing Application Form is reeived, and a licence is unlikely to
be issued if the child's attendance is unsatisfactory.
The licence, once issued, will be sent to the producer with
copies for the parent/carer and school.
