Baytree School in Weston-super-Mare is celebrating its
50th anniversary next year and everyone who has been associated
with the school over the past 50 years is being invited to join in
the anniversary celebrations.
To mark the occasion a special event has been organised for
people to go along and share their memories, photos and stories of
the school.
This will take place at the school at The Campus in Highlands
Lane, Weston on Friday 20 January from 6pm to 9pm.
"Our admissions book shows that the first pupil was admitted to
Baytree School in January 1962," said headteacher Fiona Richings.
"To celebrate our golden anniversary we would love anyone who has
been involved with the school over the last 50 years to join us
next month and bring with them any photos, memories and stories
they have of the school."
Baytree School is a special needs school for children and young
people aged between three and 19 with learning difficulties. It
used to be based in Baytree Road, Weston before moving to The
Campus in September 2004.
Anyone who would like to attend the 50th anniversary party on 20
January is asked to contact either Fiona Richings or Andrew Knight
at the school by phone (01934 427 555) or email
(baytree.spec@n-somerset.gov.uk).
