Our 14-19 Developments are focused on supporting the
Single Plan for Children and Young People 2006-2009.
The 14-19 Development Plan states:-
Our vision is for North Somerset's children and young people to
be happy, healthy and safe and achieve their full potential. This
is the keystone to their future personal success and the
contribution they make to their communities.
14-19 particularly supports the outcome areas of:
- Achieve Economic Well Being
- by developing a broader range of curriculum opportunities as a
Partnership for 14-19 learning
- Enjoy and Achieve
- by providing stimulating and challenging learning experiences for
all by developing the 14-19 curriculum
- to develop a greater range of re-engagement opportunities
consistently across the Partnership
- Making a Positive Contribution
- by developing student voice opportunities as part of our 14-19
developments
- promote the achievements of young people in the local media and
further afield
14-19 Aims in North Somerset are:-
- To increase participation in education and training and
establish a culture of lifelong learning
- develop new learning pathways and approaches to maximize choice
and diversity
- continue to raise achievement at both 14-16 and 16-19
levels
- maximize the benefits of Information Communication Technology
for learning
- maximize the benefits of collaborative provision
- ensure inclusiveness and accessibility
