Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act gives you the right to access information held by the council

We must advise and assist you in making your request and provide a response in 20 working days.  Guidance on how to submit a request is available on our Freedom of Information Requests page.

Before requesting information, check the list below to see whether it is already available on our website or Government websites. 

Please bear in mind that historical information is only available electronically from the dates stated.  If you require information that may be held in paper files, this could incur a charge.  For details, please see our Requesting information not available on-line page.

  • Statistics supplied annually to the Department for Education (DfE).  For a list of the information we supply to the DfE and how to access this, download our Department for Education Websites Document (pdf, December 2010, 132Kb)
  • OfSTED Inspection Reports for all schools, Early Years providers and Children's Social Care can be accessed via the OfSTED website.
  • Schools' Financial Information, supplied annually, can be viewed on our Finance web page.
  • Permanent Exclusions from 2000 (pdf, Jan 2012, 16Kb) - these will be updated on a termly basis
  • School Admissions Statistics From 2009 (pdf, July 2011, 71Kb).  This information  will be updated annually after the offer date in March. 
  • Unplanned School Closures from 2006 (pdf, Jan 2012, 78Kb).  School closures are, in general, unpredictable, and the information will be up-dated as and when they occur
  • School Spend on Agency/Temporary Staff from 2008 (pdf, September 2011, 25Kb).  Figures are published against nationally used codes E02 and E26 and are available from the 2008/09 academic year onwards.  This information will be updated annually.
  • Child Employment Permits Issued (pdf, Sept 2011, 22Kb).  Employment permits are valid until the young person reaches the statutory school leaving date (last Friday of June of Y11) unless they leave the employment for which they have been licensed for - the employer should then return permit to us. If the young person then gets another job they would have to apply for a new permit for that job. Overall totals are available for the academic years 1998 to term 1 2008, and more detailed termly figures are available from term 2 2008.  This  information will be updated on a  termly basis
