Our main responsibility is to prevent offending by
children and young people within North
Somerset.
We believe the best way to do this is by making sure young people
understand the harm their behaviour has caused.
We ask them to take responsibility for their actions and
attempt to make amends to their victims and /
or community.
This applies specifically to those aged 17 and under and those who
have been the subject of detention and training orders.
We are a successful multi-agency team made up
of members from the police, social services, health, education
and probation services.
Like other Youth Offending Teams we prepare an annual Youth
Justice Plan in accordance with the requirements of the Crime and
Disorder Act 1998.
