help with written information, to enable parents to play a more
active and informed role in their child’s education.

phone is available at all other times. Tel: 0117 989 7725

Disagreement Resolution
Wessex Mediation
provides a Mediation Service specifically for children and young
people with Special Educational Needs.
The service provides independent and impartial mediators to help
when parents/carers and the education authorities, including
schools, cannot agree on how to meet a pupil's special educational
needs. It is a process that gives the parties involved in the
dispute a way to find a resolution that they can live with. The
mediator provides the opportunity to resolve disputes but does not
influence the outcome.
Their leaflet
Special Educational Needs: Resolving
Disagreement (pdf, 107MB) gives more information
about the service.
