We have produced 13 factsheets for parents/carers which will help answer some of your questions about our service.

These are downloadable in PDF format (which you can read using Adobe Acrobat Reader which you can download free of charge from the Adobe website) and can be accessed via the links below:

  • SEN: What Does it Mean? - explains what we mean by Special Educational Needs and gives contact details of the various teams and agencies who can help you
  • Your Responsibilities and Who Can Help - you know your child best, and this leaflet is about how you can help us assess your child and what help is available to you
  • The Graduated Approach - this is about the various stages of support that are available to your child depending on his/her needs
  • Statutory Assessments - explains what a Statutory Assessment is, how it is carried out and what happens next
  • What is a Statement of Special Educational Needs? - explains what a Statement is, the process and timelines for writing a Statement, and what happens next
