Your child needs to attend school regularly in order to
get the best out of their education.
We are here to help you and your child if there are any school
problems which you and the school cannot solve.
We will also be asked by the school to become if your child is not
attending regularly.
We will work with you, your child and your child's school to try to
find a positive way forward.
We will treat you with respect and will expect you to co-operate
with us.
Sometimes, we may need to consult with other professional agencies
and involve them, but we will always advise you of any steps we are
taking.

As the statutory agency responsible for ensuring regular school
attendance we are required by the Government to consider court
proceedings where there is not a good reason for school
absence.
As part of the Government's drive to improve school attendance and
achievement we are also required to conduct truancy sweeps
regularly.
Any school-age child who is out of school with or without a
parent or carer will be stopped.
