Children and Young People's Information
Service can provide you with information and
advice on childcare available in the
district.
There is a wide a range of good quality
childcare in North Somerset which you can mix and match to suit
your needs, working hours, study or training. They
include:
- childminders
- accredited childminders
- pre-school playgroups
- nurseries, school nursery
classes
- children's centres
- out-of-school clubs
- parent and toddler groups
- crèches.
Through regulation and inspection,
Ofsted ensure that childcare
is safe, secure and of good quality.
The
Independent Safeguarding Authority
(ISA)
has been created to help prevent unsuitable people from working
with children.In partnership with the Criminal Records Bureau
(CRB), they will
gather relevant information on every person who wants to work or
volunteer with vulnerable people.
Good quality childcare and early education gives children
a head start in primary school, because it supports better
educational, emotional and social
