Welcome to the our healthy schools web
pages!
Our healthy schools programme helps schools make a difference to
the health and achievement of young people by supporting them to
achieve National Healthy Schools Status.
So what is a healthy school?
Healthy schools have a well-planned and taught curriculum that
promotes physical and emotional health, but have so much more! They
also have a safe, welcoming and secure environment, with healthy
opportunities that enable children and young people to do better in
learning and life and to reach their full potential.
Healthy schools aren't just about pupils: they use a
Whole School Approach to involve the school community - from
parents to governors and school staff - in improving the health and
happiness of the school by addressing
criteria in four key themes.
