Welcome to North Somerset's 14-19 pages. This is a
time of huge and rapid change for the secondary
curriculum.
Whether you work in a school or college, are a parent or carer,
an employer, or a student our aim is to keep you up-to-date.
Within these pages you will find information about the national
change agenda and what it means for schools, colleges and learners
here in North Somerset.
"a shared responsibility - across institutions and
between institutions …… in order to meet the needs of
learners"
No single institution can, on its own, meet the new 14-19
curriculum entitlement; indeed submissions to offer specialist
diplomas have to be made by partnerships of institutions.
We have ten secondary
schools and three special
schools within this area. Our further education partner is
Weston College although some
young people travel to colleges in Bristol or Bridgwater for
post-16 provision.
There are four secondary schools located within
Weston-super-Mare for age groups 11-16, these schools work in
partnership with Weston College to offer post-16 courses.
Our six other secondary schools found outside of
Weston-super-Mare have a provision for 11-19 age groups.
Two of are special schools offer 3-19 provision and the third
offers 7-16 provision. We also have three Pupil Referral
Units. |
