We provide education and learning opportunities
for people of all ages in North Somerset.
Nearly half of our budget is spent on running our 78 schools and
providing education for almost 28,500 pupils.
Schools in the district are currently benefiting from £45
million investment in buildings and facilities.
Projects include new classrooms, sports halls, libraries and
disabled facilities.
There are also plans to build 10 brand new children's centres over
the next few years.
These will offer vital services such as day care, health advice and
parenting support all under one roof.
But it is not only children and young people that benefit from
learning - it's a lifelong opportunity that we provide.
Our role is to bring together residents, community based
organisations and learning providers to take part in community and
family learning opportunities.
Since 2006, we have helped over 1500 local people into learning
activities and over 500 of these learners have progressed into
further learning, including accredited programmes with Weston
College. |
