Crime in North Somerset is down by over 16%
in the last year.
In the last three years burglary of people's homes has fallen by

by almost 32%.
There has also been a reduction in the repeat victimisation rate
for domestic violence ( 28.9% for 2007/8 compared with 31% the
previous year).
The North Somerset Crime and Drugs Reduction Partnership has
produced a plan of actions for the next year aimed at reducing
crime and offending even further, making North Somerset a place
where crime is not a worry for people living, working or visiting
the area.
The partnership (made up from representatives from the police,
police authority, council, primary care trust, probation service and
fire and rescue service) has carried out in-depth analysis of data
on crime, disorder and substance misuse issues which has led to
three main priority areas being identified:
- Drugs and related crime
- Alcohol and related crime
- Communities.
Further details on examples of the type of work the partnership
intends to carry out in the next year can be found in the plan
summary or in the full
partnership plan.
