Millennium Volunteers is a highly successful
national initiative which supports and recognises young people
involved in voluntary work.
Open to 16 to 24 year olds the programme provides an excellent
framework for personal development and training.
The scheme rewards those who clock up a set amount of hours doing
voluntary work within a 12-month period with certificates and
awards which are recognised by UCAS.
As such a Millennium Volunteers award is a great addition to your
record of achievement or CV.
It will also give you the opportunity to meet new people, learn new
skills, boost your confidence and experience another way of
life.
By volunteering through Millennium Volunteers you will receive a
certificate for completing 100 hours of voluntary work to
officially recognise your commitment to helping others.
And if you complete another 100 hours you'll receive an award
signed by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills.
If you're already carrying out some voluntary work you can backdate
50 hours and could already be half way to an award.
You can get involved with just about any opportunity from look
after animals and children to helping the elderly and taking part
in sporting activities.
You can even start your own project with our support.
We have hundreds of vacancies for you to choose to take part in on
our database at our Volunteer Centre in Weston-super-Mare.
