North Somerset YOT takes a lead on behalf of North
Somerset Council and Partner agencies in enabling the delivery of
these targeted programmes to vulnerable young people.
The focus is on reducing anti-social behaviour and substance
misuse and promoting engagement in education, training and
employment. Positive Acitivity Programmes are delivered by a
range of agencies inlcuding the YOT with the focus on holiday
periods.
The assessment of bids, the commissioning and monitoring of
programmes delivered is accountable to a panel consisting of the
YOT Service Manager, an Assistant Locality Leader (Youth Supoprt
incorporating Connexions West of England and the Youth Service) and
the Extended Services Remodelling Adviser, CYPS. This panel
has an overview of other funding streams and developments, e.g. in
relation to the Youth Opportunity Fund, Find Your Talent, and
Extended Schools thus enabling an integrated
approach.
