We are responsible for the supervision and
implementation of nearly all orders imposed by the Youth
Court.
An order is made by the court when someone pleads guilty or is
found guilty of an offence and details what punishment they are to
receive.
These could include an
action
plan order,
detention and training order,
reparation
order,
community punishment and rehabilitation order,
parenting orders, referral
order or a supervision
order.
When young people first get into trouble, behave anti-socially or
commit minor offences, they can be dealt with outside of the court
system without the use of these orders.
The purpose of these support porgrammes is to prevent young people
offending and to help them develop their life opportunities.
