Walk to health

We organise a number of walks across North Somerset as part of our drive to encourage people to lead more active lives.

Run in partnership with the NHS North Somerset they are open to anyone wanting to build some physical activity into their everyday lives. The walks vary in length and take from 30 minutes to one hour.

They are also open to those who would like to walk in a friendly and supportive environment.

Walks have been arranged for January in these locations:

  • Monday 5 January 11am, Parish Wharf Leisure Centre, Portishead
  • Monday 5 January 2pm, Uphill Way Car Park, Weston-super-Mare
  • Tuesday 6 January 10.30am, FRIEND, 69 Old St, Clevedon
  • Tuesday 6 January 11am, St James' Church Hall, Winscombe
  • Tuesday 6 January 2pm, The Glebelands, High St, Yatton
  • Monday 12 January 11am, Grove Sports Centre, Nailsea
  • Monday 12 January 2pm, Ashcombe Park Cafe, Weston-super-Mare
  • Tuesday 13 January 11am, Woodborough Public House, Winscombe
  • Friday 16 January 10.30am, Bandstand, Sea Front, Clevedon
  • Monday 19 January 11am, Grove Sports Centre, Nailsea
  • Monday 19 January 11am, Parish Wharf Leisure Centre, Portishead
  • Monday 19 January 2pm, Matalan Car Park, Worle
  • Tuesday 20 January 2pm, The Glebelands, High Street, Yatton

On all walks it is advisable to wear suitable clothing and footwear for all weather conditions as some walks will be muddy and slippery. Dogs are not allowed on the health walks.

If you would like to become a health walks leader and make a difference to the health of your community then we hold free training twice a year.

The one day workshops are ideal for those who want to support a current health walks programme or start one in an area where none exists.
