If you set yourself a challenge or enter an event it
can help motivate you to be more active.
The Go4Life team are currently running the following
challenges:
The step counter challenge: To take
positive steps into a healthy lifestyle why not take up the Go4Life
step counter challenge.
The challenge is to walk from Weston Pier to Brighton Pier -
without leaving North Somerset!
All you need to do is to visit your
library to pick up your
free step counter and
information pack which includes a
progress chart to help you keep track of your progress and a
form for you to join the Go4Life scheme.
Swim the Bristol Channel challenge:
Go4Life has teamed up with the
Young Person's Key scheme to challenge you
to swim the Bristol Channel.
Swim the equivalent distance from Weston to Cardiff via
Flat and Steep Holm islands without leaving the comfort of your
local pool.
A really simple challenge for anybody of any age where you
count the lengths you swim either on your own , with a group of
friends or as a family.
It does not matter how long it will take to complete the
challenge just remember to build up your swimming slowly if you do
not swim regularly at the moment and aim to swim on a regular
basis.
You may find it easier to do the challenge with a friend
or a family member to keep you motivated.
Contact your local
leisure centre or
library to pick up your
swim challenge card.
