The North Somerset Compact Agreement was launched in
2005 and brings together a number of groups across the
district.
A compact is an agreement made between statutory agencies and
the voluntary and community sectors.
They improve the working relationship between these groups for
the benefit of the communities they serve.
Our local compact is called 'Working Together: a Local
Compact for North Somerset' and sets out agreed standards of
working, highlighting communication, consultation between its
partners.
It also outlines the principles, values and commitments on how
they can best work together to achieve more for their local
community.
Local compact agreements were drawn up following formation and
publication of a National Compact in 1998 between the Government
and the voluntary and community sectors.
The North Somerset Compact was launched at the North
Somerset Partnership Stakeholder Event in November 2005.
For full details about what the compact involves download and
view the North Somerset Local Compact document.
Representatives from key organisations attended to sign the
document but other groups are invited to join at any time.
