Find out about Worle project

Date: 22/11/2011

An open evening about exciting new community facilities proposed at Worle Community School is being held next week.

The open evening will take place in the school's main hall on Tuesday 29 November.

Parents and local residents are invited to drop in at any time between 6pm and 8pm to find out more about our innovative project which combines community sports facilities with day services provision for people with learning disabilities.

The proposed facilities will include a 3G full-size artificial sports pitch, fitness suite, dance studio, multi-purpose rooms, cafe, kitchen, indoor and outdoor changing rooms and a 'Changing Places' fully accessible toilet facility.

In addition, our community meals service and Banwell Pottery will both relocate to the new building.

More information about the scheme will be available at the meeting and school staff and council officers involved in the project will be there to answer any questions.

A report on the project is due to go to the Executive meeting on 13 December. Subject to Executive approval and planning permission being obtained, work will start on site next year with the new facility opening in early 2013.

If you can't get to the open evening and would like more information about the project, please contact our Leisure Service on 01934 427 222 or email leisure.service@n-somerset.gov.uk.
