Work to remodel the Town Hall in Weston-super-Mare is
progressing well and plans to relocate the town's central library
are on track.
We have now started to explore options for the future of the
existing Weston library site on the Boulevard.
The Leader of the Council, Cllr Nigel Ashton said: "We are happy
to consider all options for the future use of the building as part
of our wider review of council and partner buildings through our
office amalgamation programme. Ultimately it will come down to the
most viable, sustainable and cost effective solution.
"I understand there has been some interest in the potential for
community use and I have asked Councillors Robert Cleland and Roz
Willis to look at the feasibility of this option.
"This is a great suggestion, but we can only support a solution
that is financially sustainable."
