There'll be lots of clowning around later this month
when a spectacular circus day takes place in
Weston-super-Mare!
From 11am to 2pm on Wednesday 25 August in St John’s
Field, Coleridge Road (behind Weston youth centre) will be your
chance to join in the fun of the circus with circus-skills
workshops with Wookey Hole circus performers; face painting;
storytelling; a barbecue.....and lots more!
This free family event is the brainchild of SWAN (South Weston
Activity Network), which is made up of all the local agencies in
the area. The common theme running through these individual
services holiday activities is 'Circus' with all of the children
and young people, from tots to teens having circus-skills
training.
The activities have been supported by our Family
Information Service, North Somerset Housing, Find Your Talent and
Positive Activities for Young People.
Paula Le-Milliere-Tinney from our Behaviour Improvement
Programme said: "The family circus day event is a great opportunity
for everyone to come together and have a huge family day!
This is the first time we've run activities with a common theme and
it seems to have worked really well. It has also been a
cost-effective way for us to run events as we have been sharing
resources which kept our outlay down."

based in the holidays and is administrated by the Youth Offending
