Date: 16/10/2009

Help and advice on how to keep your home warm and reduce utility bills will be available in Nailsea later this month.

A Safe and Warm Action Day is to be held on Wednesday 28 October at Nailsea Fire Station, Pound Lane, Nailsea from 10am to 2pm.

Our Home Energy Efficiency officer will amongst a host of representatives on hand to give advice on issues such as electric blanket testing, home security and fire safety, how to reduce fuel bills, insulation and heating grants and discounts available as well as benefit and trading standards advice.

For younger visitors there's the opportunity to meet a fire fighter and look at a fire engine and to have your fingerprints taken by a Police Community Support Officer. Cycling safety, a skate park and arts and crafts activities will also take place during the day.

Refreshments including free coffee/tea, piece of cake and soup and roll will be available.

If you would like your electric blanket tested please make an appointment by calling Zena on 01934 634 633.  We can collect and test your blanket if you are unable to come along to the event.
