We work to help raise the achievement levels of
black and other minority ethnic pupils across North
Somerset.
We do this through the EMAS partnership alongside
Bristol City
Council, Bath and North East Somerset
Council and
South Gloucestershire
Council.
Based in Bristol, EMAS is made up of a specialist team of
teachers and education staff who work to support the needs of black
and bilingual pupils and their parents, teachers, schools and
communities.
EMAS online services include downloadable curriculum
resources and a race equality branch which contains ideas and links
on curriculum development promoting race equality, cultural
diversity and challenging racism.
EMAS have produced an
Ethnic Minority Achievement Service
Plan which outlines our commitment to raising pupils'
local achievement levels.
