There are a number of organisations which can help
you if you need immigration advice or are seeking asylum in North
Somerset.
The
National Asylum
Support Service (NASS) provides support, accommodation and
financial help for asylum seekers whilst their claim is being
considered by the
Immigration and
Nationality Directorate (IND).
NASS can
provide support, as appropriate, to asylum seekers during their
asylum claim and for asylum seekers whose claim has failed
whilst they are waiting to return to their country of
origin.
Both these have conditions attached and are only for eligible
claimants.
If you are an asylum seeker, are eligible to and wish to claim
NASS support
you may want to seek the assistance of your nearest One Stop
Shop (OSS) service.
In Bristol this service is provided by
Refugee Action which
receives a Home Office grant to
provide this service.
The
Immigration and
Nationality Directorate has details about the law and how it
applies to you while a directory of online immigration resources
can be found on the
AsylumSupport
website.
The independent charity Asylum Aid can also assist
refugees and offers free legal advice and
representation. |
