Our Registration Service aims to achieve the highest
standards and always welcomes your comments and suggestions about
how it can improve.
We constantly monitor our performance against targets
and periodically conduct a Customer Satisfaction Survey. The
main standards we work to are:
WAITING TIMES
We will try not to keep you waiting
unnecessarily.
We aim to see everyone who has an appointment with us within 10
minutes of the appointed time or their arrival in the register
office, whichever is later.
If you arrive early for your appointment we will see you as soon
as we can.
Clients who arrive more than 15 minutes late may be offered a
later appointment to avoid causing delays for other clients.
CERITFICATE APPLICATIONS
We aim to produce certificates in response to a valid
application within three working days.
For urgent applications we offer a priority service where
certificates can be produced while you wait or within 24 hours
depending on need. There is an additional charge for this
service.
TELEPHONE ENQUIRIES
We aim to answer calls promptly.
If we cannot answer your query immediately, we will aim to call
you back on the same day. We aim to ensure that wherever possible
your query is resolved by the first person you speak to although
specialised queries may be passed to another registration
officer.
If you leave a message on our answering machine or send us an
email we will aim to respond with 24 hours.
APPOINTMENTS
If you contact us to make an appointment to register a
birth, death or to give notice of marriage/Civil Partnership, we
aim to offer you an appointment within the following three working
days.
If the appointment we offer you is not convenient we will aim to
offer an appointment at a time that suites you taking into
account any legal stipulations about when the matter should be
dealt with.
