Fees are payable for the ceremonies and services
our registration service provides.
Most of the fees are listed on this page but our
registration
service can confirm charges for other services.
Certificate fees
Certificates issued from a registar's current register at the
time a birth, death or marriage is registered are
£4. The fee rises to £7
immediately after the registration appointment.
If you require a certificate of a
death registered after inquest, please contact
our registration
service who will advise you of the fee.
Completed registers are passed to the custody of the
Superintendent Registar. All certificates issued from these
registers are £10.
Civil Partnership certificates/extracts are £4
if requested/paid for at or before the time of formation.
Further copies applied for after formation
are £10.

registration service to check the fee before making an
application.
You can make an urgent application for certificates in person or
by telephone with our priority service at an additional fee of
£6 per application.
Notice of marriage/civil partnership fees
To give
notice of marriage or civil partnership the fee is
£35 per person. The fee is payable when notice is
given.
Attendance/ceremony fees
Civil marriage ceremonies
or
civil partnership formations in the register
office cost £45. You can pay this on the day
of the ceremony or in advance.
For marriages or civil partnership ceremonies in the ceremony
rooms at 41 Boulevard, Weston-super-Mare, the fee is
£75 (Monday - Friday) and
£85 (Saturday).
The fee for the attendance of a registrar to register marriage
in a registered building (i.e. a non-conformist church) is
£80.
For marriages or civil partnership ceremonies
at
approved premises the attendance fees are:
- £280 Monday to Thursday
- £300 Friday
- £330 Saturday
- £360 Sunday
- £375 Bank Holidays
For
naming and
renewal of vows ceremonies the attendance fees are:
- £125 Monday to Friday
- £155 Saturday
- £195 Sundays and Bank Holidays
Fees for naming and renewal of vows ceremonies include a
non-refundable deposit of £25 payable at the time
of booking.
Nationality and citizenship fees
A private citizenship ceremony is £130 payable in
advance.
Licencing and registration of buildings
To register a building as a place for religious worship the fee
is £28.
To register a building as a place for religious marriage the fee
is £120.
The application fee for first approval of a secular
building for the solemnisation of civil marriages and
formation of civil partnerships is
£1,495. Approval is valid for three
years.
The fee for renewal of approval of secular buildings for the
solemnisation of marriages and formation of civil partnerships is
£1,275.
