Register Office Ceremonies

Ceremonies are conducted in the Register Office in Weston-super-Mare on a Monday to Saturday.

The Register Office Room is a first floor office where couples can be married or form a civil partnership in the presence of their two witnesses only.

If you wish to invite additional guests you should book the Ceremony Rooms on the ground floor.

Ceremonies can be booked for Monday to Friday at these times:

  • 11am
  • noon
  • 2.30pm
  • 3.30pm.

On a Saturday, ceremonies can be booked for:

  • 10.20am
  • 11am
  • 11.40am
  • 12.20pm
  • 1pm.

Bookings are accepted up to a year in advance.

We ask you to arrive 15 minutes before the ceremony so that the details you gave at  Notice of Marriage can be checked for accuracy.

The ceremony/partnership formation takes around 15 minutes. If you wish to take photographs with your witnesses in the courtyard gardens afterwards you are welcome to do so. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate music, readings or photography in a register office ceremony.

Please be aware that there is no lift to the first floor so if you become unable to reach the Register Office room after having given notice, you would have to give a fresh notice before your marriage/civil partnership could take place in another room or building.

If either party to a proposed marriage/civil partnership or either of the proposed witnesses is registered disabled and cannot access the first floor, the fee for use of the ground floor Ceremony Rooms is reduced to £40. In these circumstances Notice should be given for 'Ceremony Rooms, 41 Boulevard, Weston-super-Mare' and the booking should be discussed with the Superitendent Registrar. Only the couple and their witnesses may attend the ceremony at the concessionary fee.
