If you wish to get married you can have a civil or
religious civil ceremony within North Somerset.
The Superintendent Registrar can conduct Civil Marriage Ceremonies
at the Register Office in Weston-super-Mare or other
approved premises across the district.
Before a
civil marriage can take place you must give formal
Notice of Marriage via an appointment at the Register Office in
the district where you live.
Fees are payable for giving
Notice of Marriage and the attendance of a Registrar at a
ceremony.
However, if you're planning to marry in the Church of England
you may not have to give
Notice of Marriage and should seek your vicar's advice. You can
find your nearest Church of England by seaching the
Church of England database. Churches of other denominations are
included in our list of premises licenced for marriage.
