Flood emergency plans

We have developed this planning template from initial work undertaken by Bristol City Council to support planning applications that are subject to Planning Policy Statement 25 (PPS25) Development and Flood Risk.

The template has been produced in Microsoft Word so that you are able to edit it, however it is also available in pdf format if you do not have Microsoft Office or compatible software:

It is split into five sections:

  • introduction
  • flood risk
  • flood mitigation measures
  • flood activation procedures
  • safe refuge/rest centre

You should complete all sections, giving as much detail as possible.

You can find:

  • advisories at section 6
  • the roles and responsibilities of partner agencies in response to a major flooding incident at section 7
  • useful links to websites for more information at section 8
