Consumer Direct is the first place to contact if you
need consumer-related advice and information within North
Somerset.
This telephone and online consumer advice service is supported
by the Office of Fair Trading
(OFT) and works in partnership with
ourselves, Trading Standards and
the
Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) among other services.
It provides free clear, practical and impartial help and
advice to every single consumer who is buying or has bought goods
or services.
This service is offered regardless of age, gender, social
background or ethnicity and is used to help sort out problems and
disagreements with suppliers of goods or services.
This can involve anything from overcharging and
faulty goods to reporting dishonest traders and scams.
It has not replaced existing advice and support services but
works with them to provide a complete service for
consumers.
