Community Connect helping people access services by
providing information, advice and support to promote independence
and choice.
The Community Connect Service is provided by
Age UK Somerset and
Somerset Racial Equality Council
(SREC) who have Community Development Workers and Community
Connect Agents covering the whole of North Somerset. Their
role is to:
- Help reduce social isolation by providing opportunities for
people to become more active in their community.
- Support existing groups and help form new groups.
- Provide older people throughout North Somerset the opportunity
to have their say on current and future development of
services through
Senior
Community Link.
- Provide information, advice and help to access services,
support and opportunities in North Somerset.
The Community Connect Team run information advice and social
events (formally known as Community Cafés).
