Are you a business involved in locally grown, reared or
produced food and drink in North Somerset?
The 'Taste of North Somerset' local food directory promotes the
consumption of fresh, healthy, locally-produced food as a
contribution towards creating sustainable communities across the
district.
North Somerset Council is supporting the reprint of this popular
directory in time for Easter. The current leaflet lists over 50
local producers, farm shops/retailers and farmers markets selling
local produce from North Somerset and the surrounding parishes.
The directory contains comprehensive information for anybody
wanting to source local produce and support rural businesses. The
financial support for the leaflet is part of the council's ongoing
work to encourage people to 'Shop Local in North Somerset'.
Cllr Elfan Ap Rees, deputy leader and executive member for
economic development for North Somerset Council (the top performing
unitary council in the country), said: "To make sure this leaflet
is as comprehensive as possible we want to make sure that all local
producers and retailers who produce and also stock a high
proportion of local goods are included in the reprint.
"If you are one of these businesses and have not received a form
in the last few weeks to update or add your entry then get in touch
so that we can send you a form to complete.
"Inclusion in the directory is free and is just one of the ways
we are helping to support North Somerset’s rural economy."
