We monitor and enforce health and safety standards
in more than 5000 workplaces across North Somerset with the aim of
protecting employees.
We do this through a system of proactive inspections of
businesses, dealing with complaints and enquiries, investigating
accidents and joint initiatives alongside the
Health & Safety Executive
(HSE).
It is the responsibility of businesses to ensure they are familiar
with their duties under health and safety legislation.
We also work to promote and educate people about health and safety
issues through lectures and our guidance booklets.
